We are excited to announce that the Draft Leaving Certificate Home Economics Specification, scheduled for implementation in September 2027 has been released for consultation.
The aim of this consultation is to obtain the open and honest views of all stakeholders: students, teachers, parents, and other interested parties. The feedback gained from the consultation will inform the work of the development group in preparing the final specification. The online survey is available to complete here. The consultation is open from Monday 9th February 2026 until Friday 17th April 2026 at 5pm.
You can also apply to attend the consultation event in Limerick on Friday, 20th March 2026. Applications close on 27th February 2026 at 5pm and places are limited. Attendees will be contacted by email after the deadline. The form to apply is available here.
