Investigate how effective Action Planning for Improvement benefits from a student-centred approach.
Investigate and reflect on active, engaging and empowering classroom methodologies to enhance learner outcomes.
Develop an insight into the importance of the teacher-student relationship affecting SMART targets, cognisant of classroom context and priority cohorts.
DEIS Action Planning and Target Setting
The main focus of this PLE will be to:
Look at DEIS Action Planning using the six-step School Self-Evaluation process to improve learning opportunities for students who face educational disadvantage
Choose at-risk cohorts of students to focus on and decide what support they need based on your school’s needs.
Work together as professionals to understand how good teaching and learning are key to achieving positive results with DEIS Action Planning
Learn what SMART targets are and how to use them
Find ways to collect and study data from different sources to help set realistic and useful targets
Understand what makes a target a SMART target
Choose the right groups of students to focus on and decide what support they need based on your school’s needs.
DEIS Action Planning Full Day PLE
The main focus of this PLE will be to:
To reflect on DEIS Action Planning through the lens of School Self Evaluation to
bring about improved educational opportunities for those who come to education at
a disadvantage
To provide opportunities to professionally collaborate and to develop a shared
understanding of how effective teaching and learning is at the core of achieving
positive outcomes from DEIS Action Planning
Target Setting DEIS Action Planning Full Day PLE
The main focus of this PLE will be to:
Develop an understanding of SMART targets
Explore how to gather and analyse data from a variety of sources to support target
setting
Investigate the definition of a SMART target
Establish suitable cohorts for specific intentions and supports in their school context
