Junior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Programme Statements
Please find below links to the revised NCCA Programme Statements for Junior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Programme Statements. These programme statements will be implemented from September 2026. Students beginning their JCL1LP or JCL2LP from September 2026 must engage with the curriculum as set out in the programme statements. The Programme Statements replace the NCCA Level 1 and Level 2 Guidelines for Teachers documents.
Junior Cycle Level 2 Skills for Life PLU
From September 2026, the junior cycle level 2 priority learning unit (PLU) Skills for Life will replace the Junior Cycle level 2 PLU Preparing for Work. Students beginning their JCL2LP from September 2026 must engage with Skills for Life. All other students should continue to engage with Preparing for Work. Junior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Guidelines for Teachers
Please find below links to the Junior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Guidelines for Teachers documents. Students engaging with their second or third year of junior cycle from September 2026 should engage with the curriculum as set out in these documents. The newly published Junior Cycle Level 1 and Level 2 Programme Statements will replace these documents from September 2026 on a rolling basis.
