Teacher Fee Refund Scheme 2023

Attention Principals and School Management, this circular outlines the essential details and requirements of the scheme and must be brought to the attention of all staff, including those currently on leave, secondment or career break.

This scheme offers a partial refund for course and examination fees for teachers completing professional learning courses which are certified by an accreditation authority recognised by the Department of Education (DE).

Eligibility details

Currently serving primary and post-primary teachers registered with the Teaching Council, paid by the State and employed in DE recognised schools are eligible.

This includes teachers on secondment within the education sector. For a full list of schools, visit gov.ie.

Application details

Applications are accepted for courses completed between September 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023.

The deadline is March 31, 2024.

Required documentation includes evidence of course completion, examination results and course title provided by the accrediting authority. This application must be complete, accurate and accompanied by all relevant documentation. The classification of courses may influence the refund amount. Clare Education Support Centre and the Department of Education reserve the right to request original documentation at any time.

Late applications will not be considered.
