“There are two key strands of the Droichead process as an integrated induction framework for newly qualified teachers (NQTs). The first strand is a school-based induction one (Strand A), through which the NQT is supported by experienced colleagues” (Teaching Council, 2017, p.3).
NQTs are always central to the Droichead process. Their needs, throughout the process, should first and foremost be identified by them, following individual reflection and or collective reflection with the PST.
As stated by an NQT in the DEEPEN Report: “I found observing other teachers and seeing their professionalism and love of teaching inspiring” (Uí Choistealbha and Ní Dhuinn, 2021, p.92).
