Session 1 of our mainstream cluster PLE during the 2024/2025 year focused on the flexibility of Junior cycle and the process of planning a personalised, targeted programme of learning for students at Junior Cycle. The slides and case studies below were used during this session

Assessment of JCL1LP & JCL2LP in Mainstream Settings
The main focus of this PLE will be to:
•Developing a deeper understanding of how ongoing assessment supports student learning
•Identifying the connections between teaching, learning, assessment and reporting
•Understanding the way well planned assessment supports teaching and learning
•Explore the need for PLU ‘assessment moments’ success criteria
•Explore assessment within Level 1 and Level 2 short courses – CBAs
Special School PLE:
Session 1:
The main focus of this PLE will be to:
- Understand cross curricular planning through the junior cycle and senior cycle L1LP & L2LP.
- Explore current curriculum options.
Session 2:
The main focus of this PLE will be to:
- Strengthen our understanding of the SCL1LP and SCL2LP Personal Care Modules and how they fit into the curriculum areas.
- Explore and further develop processes and structures to support implementation of the SCL1LP and SCL2LP Personal Care Modules.

The main focus of this PLE will be to:
•To develop our understanding of how the Junior Cycle Level 1 Learning Programmes (JCL1LP) & Junior Cycle Level 2 Learning Programmes (JCL2LP) sit within the Junior Cycle framework
•To explore the Junior Cycle Priority Learning Units, Elements & Learning outcomes within the JCL1LP & JCL2LP
•To build on our understanding of Junior Cycle Level 1 & Level 2 Short Courses and to become more aware of the assessment & reporting at Junior Cycle Level 1 & Level 2
